What 4000 posts on Instagram have taught me | Behind The Scenes

Hi, I’m Wendy, and this is my 4,000th post on Instagram. 😱

To be fair (and so you don’t judge me too harshly), I converted my personal account into my business account, so I’ve been posting on here in some capacity for 7 years. 7 years! And it’s crazy to think about what’s been chronicled on here over the last seven years. The personal history this little corner of the internet contains...

...snippets of my life in Florida before I moved to Savannah 6 years ago...
...snapshots of when I moved into the original Apt. B...
...the photos I would take on “walk breaks,” when I just couldn’t take cubicle life for another minute...
...the ups and downs of my fitness and weight loss journey, from running my first 5k in 2014, to joining Crossfit in 2016, and all the yoga in between...
...the heartbreak and joy of relationships...
...special moments in the incredible friendships I get to have...
...the story of re-launching my business here in Savannah, from rebranding to client meetings to my first few weddings to going full-time...
...so many visits to Gallery Espresso...
...the photo evidence of trips to England, Ireland, Costa Rica, Uganda, Kenya, and Thailand...
...and goodness, just so much more.

I whine about IG sometimes, because when you use it for a business, it’s easy to get lost in algorithms and likes and follower counts.

But when it comes down to it, IG has been a place where I could record my life. A place where I could commiserate with all of you about the good, the bad and the ugly, and a place where I could simply record all of that - a digital scrapbook of sorts.

So, today I choose to be grateful for IG. Here’s to another 4,000 good, bad and ugly moments!
